Hand Held Plastic Enclosure

This portable enclosure is designed to be operated in the field similar to those used by rental car companies for completing customer transaction in the car return lot. This unit features a thermo printer with hinged cover that houses the printing platen for easy paper loading. Also included in the enclosure design is an integral magnet card reader, a smart card terminal, 4 light pipes, and a spring action button made with the same plastic material as the enclosure. Design & prototype build covered a 2- 1/2 week period with extensive use of web meetings due to the customer being located in India.
